BARBYMAN arrived in Australia 1961, a 20 year old who could not speak a word of English, with Toolbox, guitar and an amplifier. Like every Immigrant who can’t speak English it was very hard. He worked as a builder but was regularly cheated out of promised wages. It wasn’t until he learned to speak English that life improved. Four Years later he met his wife and believe it or not BARBYMAN is still married to her. They have two Children. He tried the Horse racing industry, starting with one horse and ending up with nine trotters. But Trotting went from thousands of Spectators to only a Few, thanks to Government interference. After almost 25 years in the Horse Business the BARBYMAN then quit and for health reasons retired. At 67 years of Age he had a Heart Attack and that's when he rekindled his love of music, writing numerous songs.

The first Song, Always came when he went to see his Children, who live about 2 hours away and noticed little Crosses along side the Highway. Next came "A Dog called Roy". Within a few months he had written 20 songs. He approached Record Companies, but they didn’t take a 67 year old with no musical training seriously. So BARBYMAN decided to record his own material and give it his best shot. A few Critics called him a great artist, like Van Gogh or Picasso. Some of his lyrics are definitely classic. His material captured the spirit of Australia, but you don’t have to be Australian to understand his talent. This is BARBYMAN'S first Album, made with his Guitar and the Studio all by himself. Hopefully in the New Year BARBYMAN will record the many new songs he has written with a BARBYMAN Band.
